CABIN GETAWAY...

This past weekend some friends and I headed up to Island Park (near yellowstone) for a little getaway. One of my friends, Karissa, owns a cabin up there that we were able to stay at. And let me just say that it was heavenly. A weekend away in the mountains was just what we needed!
We watched plenty of movies, ate plenty of junk, explored the island and caught up on some much needed sleep.
Whenever I go to Island Park I can't get over how pretty it is! This time was no exception. All the millions of trees were covered in snow and the lake was all frozen over. I just couldn't get enough of it all!
Needless to say, we did not want to go back to Rexburg and face reality again...

SNOW...

The snow has definitely made its' appearance in Rexburg! It seems like it's been snowing nonstop this whole week! It also doesn't help that it's been between -4 and 15 degrees everyday either. That only means one thing - lots and lots of layers! Beanies have also become my new best friend so you might be seeing a lot of those over the next little while...

Here's to hoping I don't freeze to death this week!

NOVEMBER...

Can you believe that it's already November?! I swear this year has flown by so quickly but I can't say that I'm too mad about it. That only means that we're getting closer to Christmas!
Fall semester is nearing it's end and I am beyond thrilled to be able to go home to enjoy the holidays with my family. While I love being in Rexburg during this time of year, it will be a nice break to be home and relax! Anyway, this weekend was filled with drives, shopping, movies and photo shoots. Some friends and I went out exploring yesterday and let me just say... it was fa-reezing! (I'm bracing myself for the snow that's supposed to hit us this week) You can't really tell from the pics but it was so incredibly windy. Glad we had some hot coco to keep us warm :)

(p.s. how excited are you that the red cups at starbucks are back? it's the little things in life, ya know?)

FALL TIME IN THE BURG...

This year is the first that I've stayed in Rexburg for the fall semester. And let me just say, it's rockin my world. Since this is my off track, I decided to just take a few online classes to keep me busy. It's the greatest thing not having to go to school and be in an actual class setting. Online is definitely the way to go.
Not to mention the fact that the weather has been perrrfect and fall leaves are everywhere. It's my absolute favorite. Who knew Rexburg could be so great? Anyway, last week was my darling roommate Michelle's birthday! So naturally we had to have a mini photoshoot. The morning of her birthday we headed out to main street to a few spots that i've had my eye on that would be perfect for pictures! Turns out I was right and these photos couldn't be more adorable.

CASUAL...

t-shirt: cotton on, denim shirt: forever 21, camo pants: gap, sneaks: converse

These photos were actually taken a couple weeks ago for another girl's fashion blog. You can see her original post here.
I love this outfit because it's basically the comfiest ever. I have found my style evolving over the year and have noticed that I love simplicity. More days than not, I usually throw on my converse, find a t-shirt I'm in the mood for and call it good. Sometimes it's the simplest outfits that are the cutest!

Lazy

You know those times when you have so much to do that you decide that you're not going to do any of it? Yeah, that's where I'm at right about now. I'm currently sitting at school blogging because I couldn't think of anything worse than doing homework. So this is what's keeping me entertained in the mean time. :)
I was able to go home for a week for spring break and see my family but now spring semester is well on it's way and wasted no time throwing out loads of homework. Let me just say that I can not wait for the day of graduation and the time where I don't have to do anymore homework! It will be a celebration for sure.
But until then, I'll continue to blog to get myself through it!

I hope everyone has a great week and doesn't procrastinate, like me.

SEATTLE

Ever since I can remember it has been my dream to visit Seattle. Being a lover of the rain and the city life, I've been convinced that I would fit in just perfectly there! (I was right) During March I finally had the opportunity to go! My oldest sister, Ashley, who lives there recently had a baby girl in December and I had yet to see her. So, my other sister Geneve and I booked our flights and we were off!
Let me just say.... Seattle was everything I thought it would be! I loved it. Ashley lives in a small town outside of Seattle so I was able to get the country side of Washington as well as visit the city. It rained almost every single day I was there so I was in heaven! The city was so clean and modern and I was definitely day dreaming about the day when I can move there!
Until next time...
